Persona 4 Arena Review | Awesome Games

Rhys from Awesome Games writes: 'Persona is a series that has grown ever more popular since its original release. Over the years, each game has seen expansions (Persona 3 FES) and portable iterations (Persona 2: Innocent Sin, Persona 4 Golden), and has become an incredibly popular franchise, with manga, anime and other various merchandising attached to the brand. Its ironic, then, that Persona has become more well-known than its parent franchise, Shin Megami Tensei, which features numerous sub-series separate from the Persona universe.'

| Which Franchises Should Nintendo Bayonetta?
Added: 20.05.2013 18:17 | 11 views | 0 comments
GotGame: Nintendo certainly seems to have an interesting strategy for this generation. While their competitors are focused on gaining an exclusive edge with multiplatform titles from huge developers, such as Sonys deal with Destiny or Microsofts early DLC for Call of Duty, Nintendo is reaching out to small and medium sized developers to gain exclusives. Nintendo is working with Platinum Games on the Wonderful 101 and Bayonetta 2, with Atlus for Shin Megami Tensei x Fire Emblem, with TT Fusion on Lego City Undercover, and with Sega for Sonic Lost World.

ThisisXbox: "Persona, or Shin Megami Tensai as it is better known around the world is an insanely successful Japanese RPG series. The series has been running rampant for years, so when Arc System Works and Atlus announced that Persona 4 Arena would be a fighting game, many were perplexed as to whether the game would even be worth making. Well I can silence the murmurs now, not only is it a credible fighting game, but its pretty damn good by fighting game standards."

It's really hard to recommend Soul Hackers, even to those people who are fans of SMT titles. The big problem is that the series has grown so much since the game was last released, and has made so many improvements upon a formula that had a lot of flaws. With SMT IV just on the horizon, Soul Hackers might work as a very temporary fix to your dungeon-crawling-demon-summoning needs, but that's really if you've got no other games in the series to get your fix.

"Overall, this is a fun game and Im glad it finally made its way over here. Although in some regards it has aged since its first release 16 years ago, the gameplay still remains solid. If youre looking for a good on-the-go JRPG for your 3DS, there is a lot of fun to have here. This is also a great game to get yourself in the right mindset for Shin Megami Tensei 4 in a few months." - Ridge Dermody
